September 7, 2007 (Denver, CO) …ccintellect has completed more than 50 projects with some of the most innovative economic development agencies in the country.
As we prepare for the IEDC Conference in Phoenix, we wanted to share a few of our learnings with interested economic developers:
- Well designed, well marketed economic development websites can receive 10 times the traffic of average ED websites, for the same development budget.
- The average ED website works day and night, and distributes more information than one full time staff person can.
- If you measure the success of your website by contact form submissions, you shouldn't. 98.6 percent of your visitors don't, and will not, fill out a form.
- In the second quarter of 2007, economic developers generally received 30 times more unique visits to their website than they receive phone calls.

We recommend two free tools to help your website, and your community, to perform better.
First, download our free " Best Practices in Economic Development Websites " presentation. It will give you a few do's and don'ts and show you what you need to do to stay ahead of, rather than keep up with, the pack.
Second, Sign up for a two-month free trial of Development Results , the leading website statistics service for economic developers.
Third, look for Ben Wright, Principal, Keo Frazier, Director of Research and Analytics, and Kelly Trotter, Account Executive, at the IEDC Conference in Phoenix in mid-September to learn more about how ccintellect can help your organization, and your community, thrive online.
